Building a Happy Sexy Environment Suffering from ads?

Some of the decisions the ministers of Building Happiness, Sexologist, and Environment affect each other, so I figured this would be a good place to have some discussion of our plans.

First the settler should be built on the next turn (#24). WB has already said his preferred city site in 3 SW. I agree. Here are suggested city sites for discussion.

Site 1 is the site identified by WB. It can share the irrigated floodplain and it looks like it will be a coastal city that can build a harbor. Site 2 is on the desert with access to the second floodplain. It looks like there are plains in the area that can be irrigated. I have not identified a particular tile for site 3, 9, and 10 as we don’t know enough about the area. Site 4 is on a hill (good defensive position) with access to fresh water and a floodplain tile. Site five is a jungle tile along a river with one grassland and more once the jungle is cleared. Sites 6 and 8 are along the coast in the west. Site numbers are not to suggest an order for settling cities, other than the first 4 sort of have a logical reason behind them. They capture all the floodplains we can see and they allow us to mark a border between us and MAST.

To support the first few cities I have marked in blue where I think mines, roads, and irrigation should be done. Note this is an old pic so the worker is not shown in his current location which is on the upper tile marked MR. The tile the worker is on must be mined first and completed in six turns to support my production plan for Sunshinia.

In Sunshina the settler should be completed on the coming turn. For five turns following it will use the mined grassland and irrigated floodplains, then the laborer is removed from the floodplains and placed on the mined grassland where the worker is now. Another three turns later it will grow to size 3 with the new laborer placed on the irrigated floodplain. Another six turns later the granary will be completed, the turn before the city grows to size 4.

When the second city is founded I plan to produce two warriors. They can be used initially to do a little exploring before they are needed for happiness control in the two cities.

In the third city (this is getting beyond my term unless I am re-elected) my plan would be to build a barracks and use it to produce veteran hoplites.

Got spare money?

I'd rather have the cities closest to the capital far enough away as to allow them to grow to full size. They are going to have the least corruption and I think we should utilize that. Besides, We want people to have enough room to grow their, uh, "Hemp."

Support Apolyton, buy GURPS/ Alpha Centauri

Full size is a long way off in an MP game. A lot of tiles will go unused for much of the game. The more the cities are spread out the greater the distance from the capital with its increased corruption.
