I met a mason in Mississippi. He had to be the oldest living man on earth. His wife was the sweetest thing ever - a real southern lady. When I asked him about his Masonic ring, it was the only thing he didn't/wouldn't/couldn't(?) respond to; otherwise, he heard everything I said.

Texas Grand lodge Rules do not allow alcohol to be served at official masonic functions or in lodge rooms. Southern Baptist influence.

My Grandfather was a really high level masion. He was from Scotland and joined in the 1930's and I guess you get some sort of special membership if you are Scottish or something (Free Masonary started in Scotland).

The Scottish rite of Freemasonry originated in Scotland. Modern masonry derives its roots from England, however forms of masonry have existed for thousands of years.
