I don't think you get a choice over how you fall in love. You just do. If you're making a concious decision over it, then you probably aren't in love at all... I guess it doesn't matter which is "better" because you're not making that choice anyway.

Yeah, I've seen guys go head over heels in love with girls they hardly know anything about, and when I tell them a few things about the girls, they think I'm trying to break them up or even worse, trying to make a move on them for myself. So when I just sit tight and watch them, they chase the girl and get the brush-off, and that's the only time I can talk to them.

And it's so hard to be their pal about it without going "Oh, I knew about that but I couldn't tell you about it" or "Yeah, all the girls know about that one".

I don't believe in the first option, but there is a place where the two options can meet...and I think that is best. Meeting someone and knowing that they're right for you, and then spending more time and showing yourself that you were right all along...and then getting into a relationship. Gradual is good, but it doesn't have to be settling.

If you do not have a player mentality, you will get played. It is important for a man to always be in control of the relationship and get respect he deserves. The person in the relationship who loves the least has the control. If you fall in love or chase the other, you give away your control. The attitude of the man in a relationship should be that HE is the prize and that he is doing the female a favor by allowing her to spend time with him and experience HIS charm. Most guys have the complete opposite attitude.
