Suffering from ads?

[cynical] How much work does this bring for the trackers and how good is it for the local economy? Do they sell gorilla suits on Ebay? [/cynical]

If it is true a new species related to chimps sounds most plausible. Gorillas and Bonobos are strictly vegetarian AFAIK (certainly as far as killing larger animals is concerned).

Thanks, I wasn't quite sure. They certainly don't go around tearing monkeys and other animals apart as chimps do.

If you are about to say that HIV came from chimps, find several articles that don't quote each other and support you and start a new thread.

Nah, I'll just post one article

But if you believe that the HIV or Ebola virusses never jumped from nonhuman primates to humans, feel free to find several articles that don't quote each other and support you and start a new thread.

True, chimps are nasty brutes! If only we were more similar to bonobos in behavior.

The Bonobos have a Matriarchate,
where Women seem to be in Power,
whereas SChimpanzees have a Patriarchate,
like humans.

If thatīs the point that makes the Difference?

No. I was thinking mroe along the lines of bonobos being far less aggressive, more peaceful ... and having lots and lots of sex.

Bonobos and Chimpanzees are strongly related to each other.

It was Pan paniscus (Bonobo) versus Pan troglodytes (Chimpanzee) or, the same Differencelike between Homo habilis and Homo sapiens, or according to the old System of Classification between the Neanderthals and the modern Human.

The main Difference apart from the Behavior seems to be in their Habitus in that they are a little smaller than ordinary Chimpanzees, which is why they are also called Pygmy Chimpanzees.

So it might really interesting why they tend to solve their Problems with Sex, whereas the Chimpanzees solve their Problems with Agression.

And the big Difference which strikes me is that Bonobos have a Matriarchate and the Chimpanzees have a Patriarchate, so I speculate that this could be a reason, why they have a less agressive and more fun way to solve their Problems.

Of course it could also be the other way round, that the ways to solve Problems was first and therefore in Chimpanzees the Males who had the advantage of being stronger climbed to the top of the Ladder, whereas in Bonobos the Females had the advantage of being better in Social things and therefore here they are the ones who rule.

In either way, I see Matriarchate and Patriarchate to be closely interconnected with the difference ways of the Species to solve their quarels.
