The Long-Term Plan is Totally Messed Support Apolyton, buy Galactic Civilizations

I have no idea what happened and I just don't feel like looking through old saves to figure it out.

My best guess is that something was messed when we expanded from Pop 2 to Pop 3. Somehow, we have different amounts of food than we should by this turn and I can't for the life of me figure out why

Water under the bridge, though. Just need to plan from this turn as though it was the first in the game

We have 3 Jaguars out and we've completed a fourth this turn. The original plan called for 3 Jaguars and then a SETTLER, but with Team Sunshine sitting right outside our borders with a warrior, building a fourth Jaguar to defend our capital isn't a bad idea (even though the 3rd one was supposed to be used for that ).

This sets back our expansion a little bit, but we'll survive.

The next build NEEDS to be a settler, as our population expanded to 4 this past turn, creating potential problems in the very near future if we don't expand. As for WF placements, I recommend 1-2-4-12 (irrigated flood plain, flood plain, hill, wheat) while at Pop 4.

With 4 Jaguars out there, we should keep 1 at home and keep those other 3 hunting down other civs to contact.

As for the long-range plan, the general idea can still (I hope) be preserved if we want a Jaguar rush. We complete the first settler, then build a barracks, then pump Jaguar warriors like there's no tomorrow and crush some unsuspecting civ next door.

If we do not go Jaguar rush, then using Pottery gained from Sunshine to build a Granary in our capital might be optimal. Between a granary and our flood plain start, we could could REX like nobody's business before doing an archer, swordsman, or horseman rush. During the REX phase, our capital could afford to build really non-stop settlers while other cities are building workers and military units.

We have the benefit of both cheap barracks AND cheap temples as well, so building an effective and tight-knit city core should be relatively easy and the barracks for that initial rush are cheap

This could still work quite well.

Avatar Enlargement: We've got the solution

I'm going to start a poll about this... which plan to take... it needs continued discussion as well, but an immediate poll to see what people think NOW might not be so bad.

I think the long-term plan were messed up rather early, I may even have been partly responsible for doing it. Check some of the older post if you want the details.

I think part of the problem is the lack of organization here. We don't need much, a handful of 'topped' threads to remind us what's going on and what we are supposed to do.

I suggest one 'Diplomacy' thread where we collect all running, planned, broken, planned broken, contacts and agreements with other civs.

One 'strategy' thread would also be fine, here goes our long term plans of any kind.

And maybe a 'saved game' thread with the latest save.

Maybe a 'government' thread as well, just so we remember who(if any) is supposed to be in charge here.

Krakan, can you 'top' threads in this forum?

We just make sure to edit the 'topped' thread when something happens, or they will be useless very soon.
