Here's the post that sparked the point of having this poll:

If we do not go Jaguar rush, then using Pottery gained from Sunshine to build a Granary in our capital might be optimal. Between a granary and our flood plain start, we could could REX like nobody's business before doing an archer, swordsman, or horseman rush. During the REX phase, our capital could afford to build really non-stop settlers while other cities are building workers and military units.

We have the benefit of both cheap barracks AND cheap temples as well, so building an effective and tight-knit city core should be relatively easy and the barracks for that initial rush are cheap

This could still work quite well.

I voted option one, on the condition that we find a neighbor vulnerable enough and close enough to make it pretty doable. Otherwise, option 2 would be the best.

I agree with Krakan. If we find an inviting target we jag-rush'em. If not: REX.

Jag-rushing the hippies sounds too dangerous.

Yeah, we could harass them, but that wouldn't really do much to benefit us. I think it'd be better to have them as allies early on. We can always turn on them later.

Support Apolyton, buy Galactic Civilizations

Even for an early rush you need four or so cities to churn out about two jags a turn in a GA. Not to mention supporting the army, obviously. And by the time we have four cities, we'll probably have a much better idea of what targets we have that look tempting. So focus on Rexxing to start off with.

Tired of ads?

In terms of Rexing we have ample flood plains (one irrigated), a plains with wheat (mined) and ample plains (none irrigated).

I don't think we have enough sheilds in the capital to build a granary adn think that stlr prod will be limited more by sheilds anyway.

Working 3 irrigated FP's we can get 5 excess food which will give growth every 4 and enough food for a stlr every 8 turns. Then we'd need the 2 sheilds from the wheat tile, 1 from the city tile and 1 from an irrigated plains to give 4 sheilds for a stlr every 8 turns.

Not very good really and would require alot of worker activity to even get going perhaps we can look at having other cities as stlr pumps.
