	Best ways to screw off while at work. Tired of ads?

I'm currently sitting at work with absolutely nothing to frigging do and I'm bored. To top it off I have a headache from drinking to much last night (which is a story in itself) so I am perfectly misserable. So what do you folks do to help pass the time when there is nothing to do at work? Please keep in mind that what ever I do I will be surrounded by my co-workers and I don't want them to start thinking of me as a slacker.

Any suggestions?

I got myself an ergonomic armchair one year ago. It can swing back 20-30 degrees and is extremely comfortable. Too comfortable actually. I have been falling asleep by mistake several times, for 10 minutes or so. Once I fell asleep on purpose at my lunch break, but didn't wake up until 14.30.

But this autumn will be so busy so the risk of that happening again is minimal.

Why would you need help goofing off when you hav the internet at your disposable?!

It was my last day at work today... since I worked as part of a small team goofing off opportunities were slim, but I would e-mail my girlfriend (Although no internet access), take frequent toilet breaks, and just sit at my PC doing nothing.

My employer keep logs of all my internet activity, including what I post on 'poly. That's why I normally wait until I get home before I post anything controversial. They won't sack me for excessive use of the net, but they may close my connection if I overdo it. Good for me, my boss does not draw a line between private time and work time. He himself works when he's off duty and takes long breaks when he's supposed to be working. He doesn't care if I do some private surfing, as long as the other people in the management team doesn't find out.

I like to read financial sites and research housing prices, areas, and demographics in areas I might want to buy... I know that you want to get into real estate one day, best to start learning and researching now...

Tell us when you are back from your "fake dump" Oerdin - Was it relaxing? I sometimes do that when I have a bad day. Not for an hour but for 20-30 minutes or so, 2-3 times during a full workday. I seldom have a hangover at work, but I am quite often tired from 'poly surfing or Civing

Well, my fake dump turned into a real dump and the place kind of stunk so I didn't hang out for very long. Still, it's a good idea and I think I'll keep it in mind for the next slow day.

That's a good idea. I regularly check the local newspaper but I imagine that most of the houses never make it into the paper and instead are kept on one of those broker web sites. Do you know any good housing locator web sites?

not for around there, I generally search something like "Sacramento, Fair Oaks, Homes for Sale" and click around on brokers, or you can try and find free MLS servers in your area, some of them require a small fee.

Or you can even look through the classifieds on sacbee.com....

There are also plenty of discussion groups around that chat on how to get a loan, buy a house, insure it, etc...

We have no bathrooms on my floor, just toilets The showers for the blue-collar workers are on another floor. (sorry for the bad joke, I know that Americans say bathroom when they actually mean crapper)

And I think it would be very embarrassing for them to ask what I actually did on the toilet, don't you think?. (If they even take notice of my visit frequency.)

And I almost never take fake dumps, they are for real in 95 % of the cases. I only extend the time taking them. I suppose I have a special digestion system, as there could sometimes be 3-4 real lavatory visits in a day.
