Anyone else noticed this?

It's almost like it is done deliberately.

I got this one D-EJ360 (I always burn wavs to my CDs) and unless the MP3s origginaly come at aroun 99% of volume the volume on the CD player is nowhere near satisfaction.

That's the problem, I can't! Audiocatalyst is worthless as is MP3Gain when the volumes are really low...
If an MP3 comes with a 99% or so volume then it's ok. Anything less is painfully low volume and can't be altered with any program I've used... Instead of volume going up some random Decibels go up and if it is peak normalization it doesn't work

I've had this problem with Sony's MP3 player, I've just struggled through it though. I can wear it most of the time and hear just fine, but mowing the lawn with them on is out

I think it's deliberate. I have an old Sanyo portable CD player, without G protection or anythig like that, and you can literally blow your eardrums out with this thing.

I think the new ones are made this way so imbecile teenagers don't go def (sp?) after a week.

No they're not. They are dirt cheap in fact. I got this one for just 81 euros. If you want MP3 playback they are a bit more expensive but not to the point of being not affordable.

Yes, there are cheaper brands but I wanted a good brand for my new Cd player. They are not much cheaper though. About half the price. And I'd rather have a Sony than a agaoua silversadder cdplayer "hi teckonoly" brand.

CD/CDRW Mp3 players are not cheaper. They are about 30 euros more.

Is there an AVE (Auto Volume Limiter System) switch on the bottom? I've got one on a "Discman ESP2 Groove" that I keep around for use occasionally. If there is one, try setting it to Norm instead of Limit.

Yes there is one on the side. I have it disabled. If I have this one on the volume is ever lower. Much lower.

I'm talking low volume on some songs even without AVE and CD player's volume to 9+++ and one level of extra bass on.

I define low volume as in "the traffic noise can be heard"....

Suffering from ads?

you're a brand-slave.

my blabla brand MP3 CD player cost me ~120 Euros, with this little screen thingee. Without the screen, a Panasonic one would cost ~90.

So it's not an easy choice. The MP3 reading part is a must, though.

Odd though, blabla brands are half price around here. Not more expensive and with more features than well known brands....

I don't want MP3 palyback. I burn all my CDs in wavs so I'm sure they'll play on every CD player (parties, friends, future car cd player etc)

Not that MP3 playback isn;t good too. You can get 10 times or so the songs you'd have in wavs in an MP3 CD.
It's just a matter of preferance and what you'd want it for.

You could always change each Wav-file manually. With most wave editors this takes absolutely ages, but Nero has a built-in editor which is really fast and efficient at this kind of thing, might be worth checking out.

Don't know what clumbsy polack means but I wonder if the volume thing is the same with other brands?

Oh and I said "dirt cheap" because you're only buying it once.

I'm not interested in normalization per se so much, my free MP3Gain can do that , but in programs that can actually boost MP3 volume to max allowed without distorting the sound.
