NationStates really works better as a multiverse, since there are so many nations (some have three hundred-odd - compare 197 official nations on Earth). Old Apolyton can be one world, and Neo Apolyton is another, and so forth.

I picture the game starting in about 2020. My country is totally anti-nuke. instead we are designing an SDI defense system. We are also planning Mars colonies.

1) Just because a technolgoy exists at the time doesn't make it available to anyone who wants it.

2) I see no reason why the game should start in 2020, and if you want your nation to exist in that time period, anyone who wants their nation to exist in the present day is free to ignore your nation.

3) A nation of 5 million people with a 'Reasonable' economy wouldn't be able to build satellites yet, much less ABM systems or space colonies.

Hey guys. I've decided that due to RL commitments and my general feeling of not being bothered with the new Neo Poly, I won't be starting a new nation. I intend to be active still on Apolyton region, even if we use this forum regularly, but I won't have time for any new games. Hope it works for you guys.
