How Do I Hide a Tray Icon? Browse Apolyton AD-FREE

(Win XP)

I have Zone Alarm running and I dont want it to show in the system tray at all. The option doesnt exist in the program itself, and the windows "hide inactive icons" thingie still keeps an arrow that you can click on and then see the icon, while I want it to dissapear completely.

Any ideas?

Tired of ads?

It's going to show all your active programs running. I don't think ther's any way to hide that. But that is something I use all the time to make sure I don't have extranneous stuff running in the background. I don't like using up system resources on crap.

It's a long story. I want to do it for the holy and righteous cause of annoying my sister.

Anyway, someone on CFC found a great program that does exactly what I need.

and I thought I hated clutter

I'm a clutter free freak. I hate any type of ISP that adds more crap. I like Internet Explorer to be clutter free. Yes I can full screen the thing, but I like to see the back/forward and stop buttons and the adress window, and the file window. All other crap should not exist on my screen.

I feel the same way about my task bar. No Clutter!

Support Apolyton, buy Call to Power 2

Click on Start, then right-click on the area that shows your most often used programs, and click properties.

This should open "Taskbar and Start Menu Properties".

Click on the 'Taskbar' tab at the top, then Customize.

Scroll down to the item in question, and change it to 'always hide'

Hope this does it.
