OH POO - please help! Get a bigger avatar today!

Well it's nearly midnight here in the UK, but my missus is ill so I'm mucking around in ToT,
trying to make my first ever scenario (well, a published one at least). Guess what? I've
found something frustrating. Due to the 16 bit colour in ToT, Adobe PhotoShop will not open
16 bit .bmps and returns an error. Poo. OK, fortunately MSPaint (where would I be without
that...) opens them ok. So I save the 16 bit .bmp to 256 colour .bmp so Photoshop opens them
ok. So fine, there I am, twiddling away quite happily. I save my altered 256 .bmp files and
slap them in my scenario folder. Launch ToT and load the scenario. Everything ok?

NO WAY! thats too easy!

ToT goes tits up in a big way! don't even try it folks!

A little more experimenting later and it appears that ToT will not have any
truck with any graphics other than the 16 bit colour .bmps. Since tried & trusted Adobe
won't edit these that leaves me with MS Paint, the premier of graphics programs
oh joy!!!!!!!!!!!!! A pox on Bill Gates!

Anybody any suggestions?

All I need now is for my PC to succumb to the Mill

Miner,
In Photoshop, did you save your graphic as a 24 bit or 8 bit file? I've altered TOT graphics and saved them as 24 bit files in Photoshop with no problem.
However, I did need another program (PSP) to open the original 16 bit TOT files.

You coulda just copied and pasted the images from Adobe into MSpaint. I did that with my old version of Corel, and that worked fine!

Just hit copy in Adobe and paste in MSpaint. Dunno if it'll work or not.
