Support Apolyton, pre-order Civilization IV

Ok, what the hell -- it's about 2:30 here.

The answer is . . . . . .

Iowa City -- according to a senior gay activist who currently lives there, approximately 30% of the city's population is non-heterosexual (gay, lesbian, bi-sexual, transgendered, and so forth).

I do not know if this claim is valid -- when I asked him for the source of this information, he said he did not get this information from any one source.

He said his claim is based on information that has been dissimated through the gay community. So really, you can't take this statistic with blind faith, unless we would be able to locate a reputable source.

But if it were true, it's very interesting that Iowa City, of all cities in United States is the one.

I did my graduate work in Iowa City, and it was indeed very gay (my three closest friends were a gay man, a lesbian, and a bisexual woman, and one of my fondest memories are of helping said lesbian cruise for chicks). But I'd be surprised if it were gayer, proportionally, than Northampton, Mass. Or is that #1?
