I suppose the Torah might have thwe chapters numbered differently than the Christian bible, but in mine Exodus Chapter 35:12-36 describes the offerings that the Jews made to God after Moses presented the Law to them. It does not say that they stold the cloths, gems and jewelry that they offered.

What makes this even more hysterical is that recent research has conclusively shown that a large number of Jews never lived in Israel, nor did a mass exodus occur. The're talking about suing over a completely fictitious event!

(Egyptian archeological records actually are a major portion of the proof that a large number of Jews didn't live in Egypt, since there is no record of them living there, and not even some Egyptian record talking about how the Jews were nastly people so they kicked them out of Egypt. )

Well, in this case the Israeli Workers Union should demand Egypt to pay the wages of ~2,000,000* people over 400 years, with interest and adjustment for inflation.

*-2 million because generations change and stuff. So if 600,000 left Egypt, about 2 million of their ancestors lived and worked there for 400 years.

It seems obvious that the point is to put things into a different perspective. The persons in the short article claims that much of israeli policy since 1948 has been legitimized by the torah and so forth. If Israel can use this absurd source to get backing for their claims, then people against Israel could do the same. I guess one has to be quite hateful against Israel to fully understand and accept the logic, but there is a twisted logic in it. I don't think they are serious in the sense that they would win though.

The other ludicrous aspect of this is that historians and archaeologists cannot agree about modern values for the weights referred to in ancient sources so the amounts claimed could be wildly exaggerated.

All in all this looks like propaganda for the barely literate masses.

I recently revealed that I should get reparations, too. I mean, my family used to live in the parts of Karelia Russians took in Winter War, and had to move away from their homes. The spiritual pain, the misery! I want money!

Of course, if the Russians can't pay them, they should hit someone else for cash. The Germans, for example - sure, they got reparations after the war, but can that really cover TEH PAIN which is INSANE?

But wait! Considering that the Finnish cavalry troops ravaged Germany during Thirty Years' War, some German might want to get reparations from me! Will the cycle of pain never end?

The only realistic solution is that government should give everything to everyone, and to fund this endeavour they should tax everything from everybody. Then we'll finally have justice! Hooray!

Er, the "trillions" are based on several thousand years' interest, according to the article.
And if we're suing, I'm hungry right now. This is the fault of everyone on Earth for not feeding me, when they could easily have done so for less than a dollar via a visit to the nearest vending machine. At 50 cents times six billion people, I'm not leaving until I see a money order for three million bucks arrive in the mail. Surely you don't expect me to *work* for a living?
