In relation to the Tea Party, yes, but it's undebiable that revolutionaries propogated terrorism in the colonies against Tories. British Loyalists were indeed terrorized, to the point that thousands fled the colonies back to Europe. It was a larger exodus of people fleeing a country than the French Terror produced.

This all depends how we define "terror." I'm sure it can be construed to represent how the Germans sacked the Roman Empire. Or the ancient Israelites against their neighbors. Or any number of people who have used violence for a purpose. How about Suffragettes who threw bricks through windows? Seems like small stuff, but it was done out of the same idea, and did have the desired effect.

So True. Terrorist = "Them". Freedom Fighters = "Us". That is the best definition I can think of.

I'm inclined to say the French Revolution was the most successful use of terrorism in history. While the actual "terror" was short-lived, the ultimate results of the revolution were permanent and world-changing.
