Motorola T720i

Anyone know of any cool stuff I can do with it? Also if anyones on the O2 network in the UK (and I dont know if thats relevant), where can I download ringtones?

I don't have Java games on my phone, but I don't play games on my phone anyway. I've played MotoGP on the T720, it's more of a joke than anything else.

My phone doesn't have GPRS, but a CDMA-based (rather than GSM) networking support called 1X, which supports up to 144Kbps internet anywhere that they have coverage (which is basically everywhere).

I only have half a meg of GPRS free per month (along with 500 minutes off peak, 50 free on, 500 texts) which sucks pretty hard.

Most importantly: The fishies swim around in that picture of my phone I took. It's the aquarium background. Have a bunch of others stock, like a cabin with snow falling and a field with yellow flowers blowing in the wind, and you can download backgrounds as well.

I also like setting avatars for everyone in my address book. My brother's picture is an ape (which shows large, full-color on the big inside screen when he calls, and a low-res monochrome one on the small outside screen). The SO's is a cute guy.

Same here, I ordered mine on the 12th! It was delivered the next day, but I wasn't in, so they took it back to the Securicor (delivery firm) depot. They didn't put the note through the door telling me they had already tried, so I was expecting it for the next 10 days, until last friday when I rang up customer services. They said they had it in storage, but when I rang the Northampton branch, they said it had been sent back to the sender (O2). This was not the case, as on my previous call I had used some "tactical hystrionics", to get them to speed up. So my phone arrived at my house at 1pm today, but again I wasn't in (at the doctors getting my knee prodded). So I had to wait until 6pm when I could pick it up, cycled 4 miles to the depot and back, and now I have it!

Sorry, I'm guessing no-one really cares

Nokia 6310i. The work phone for people who have moved on past the sparkly-things school of cell phone design

Great phone. Only thing I'd change about it would be to make it quadband instead of triband. Other than that it's everything you'd need in a business class phone. Great battery life, rock solid build quality (made in Germany), excellent reception, and volume.

This is something I don't understand. Why do people actually like the phones with cameras? The problem these days is finding a solid cell phone that doesn't have a camera in it. Putting the camera in the phone is one of the more silly things I've seen catch on.

Especially for someone who need the phone for business. Places are starting to ban the stupid things (camera phones, I mean; and with good reason). Some of us would rather have a phone that you can actually take with you when you need to. Course, I can understand why Asher likes the things...

Try using your precious Nokias out in the Rockies.

I intentionally get phones with external, extendable antennas -- it is a huge help for analog signal reception in the mountains.

I've had the Siemens M50 for a year now, and I'm perfectly happy with it.

I don't use my phone for anything else than calling and SMS, so I don't care about other features.
Plus, Siemens phones always fit well in my hand, unlike Nokias.

I don't have any problems, besides I could say my fingers are most likely little bigger than average. It is you who have problems. You want them big buttons, cookie sized so that your clumsy fingers won't dial the wrong numbers.

I bet you read the manual as well on how to make a call with the phone. Get out of your caves!

Is it too much to ask for consistently-shaped buttons that are large enough to easily use?

The people who buy Nokias here are prissy glamour *****es who wear those backpacks big enough to fit a popcan, or guys who wear turtlenecks...they like their small, odd-shaped buttons.

I have a really old nokia with a black and white screen which I got for free when I signed up for my cell phone like a year and a half ago. It would be nice to get a phone with a color display and a camera but I'm waiting until the camera image quality goes up before I buy. They just introducing the 2nd generation of camera phones so I figure in about a year they'll release the 3rd generation and that's when the quality will be acceptable.
