you know, some of the chat logs unedited are pretty much funnier than anything we could ever fabricate...

The chats do take a life of their own sometimes. We can be in there discussing aloost anything and then the save shows up and there's a big rush to see what has transpired between the turns.

Sometimes people want to ask questions about the game at that point or sometimes they ignore those who are trying to discuss game related topics.

We also get players from other teams coming into seperate chat rooms we have set up just for the purpose of being able to easily contact us. I think this will help us immensly in the long run with diplomatic affairs; as our availability is unmatched by other teams we have contact with.

IRC chat is something like Aol chat or MSN chat, on less obtrusive and a little less user friendly, but once you get the hang of it, it's worth it to be there when you can. If you only on Apolyton for about 30 minutes, pop in anyways, in that 30 minutes you can find out many answers to your questions. mIRC is the IRC chat program I use, and it's the one most of us here are familiar with. If you need help in getting that program downloaded and installed on your machine, I will be gald to try and help you. I'm just getting used to it now, but people like WB have been using it for years.

I feel a certain comradre with the guys that frequent the chats, we talk about RL and the game and about the wierdest things imaginable. Almost anything is up for discussion. Come on by, you wont be disapointed.

like BigFree, I use mIRC too, much easier to use than the java chat, at first it is kinda hard to get used to (I probably gave WhiteBandit a real hard time since I kept asking him IRC stuff at first).

Well, today I saw some people in the chat, Theseus, Dominae, Beta and vondrack which I have either never seen before or haven't in a real long time. So I guess this thread has served its purpose.

And I sure hope it isn't the last time I see them around

MZ wining about losing a 6 year collection of Porn on his hard drive because he had reformated the drive it was on without backing up first....

I did offer te send him some of mine, but he declined, for some strange reason....

But we do have some fun, sometimes. I don't always talk about WF's, but sometimes get a kick out of WB's lovelife (or lack of)...

WB, that is almost exactly the type of thing I would have in mind.

As I say, though, I am too busy at the moment to participate, but would happily assist in organizing or making and keeping a mailing list or something of that sort.

After October my schedule should open up some, and I might have more time as well.
