So which tiles are we working? I know you gave the info in one of the posts above, but the settler in 8 turns, growth in 5 looks to be consistent with the irrigated FP, mined wheat, FP, FP setup, rather than changing of the FPs to a plain (which would give us 6 turns to growth and 6 to settler by my reckoning, although I could easily have that wrong).
How long till we finish mining the hills?
If we did switch an FP to a plains last turn, that would give us 10 shields on the settler next go, which would let us pop rush it in principle, although we'd be back to size 1 then. And it would only save us 5 turns on settler production, which isn't really a biggy.
Come to think of it, pop rushing gives us one settler now and one 15 turns after that(assuming we go straight to another settler). That one on turn #1 and one on turn #16, leaving the capital at size 1.
Not pop rushing give us our first settler in 6 turns (potentially), or 7 if we haven't changed to plains yet, and the next one 9 turns after that. That's
settlers on turns #7 and #16, leaving the capital at size 2, with no pop-rushing unhappiness to worry about.
So all pop rushing really gains us is 6 turns of production in our first new city, but at the expense of 7 turns of lower production from the capital (lower size) plus unhappiness. I guess pop rushing isn't going to do much good for us here. Forget I mentioned it...
