This poll is all about putting "a face" to the posters here. Or at least provide some useless statistics for the Apolyton yearbooks.

I realize that this could be a "sensitive" subject. But those that wish to do so, can restrict themselves to only voting in the poll, and not post any information on themselves in the thread proper.

I'm from Denmark, and here in Europe, race is not nearly as big an issue as it is in the states. So please believe me when I say, that I have no ulterior motives for this poll, other than some good OT fun

P.P.S. I know that black isn't P.C. but since 'poly is international, it figures that not all blacks are African-American

a) I never understood why "black" is not P.C., I think it is just as P.C. as "white".

b) Ethnically I am east-med, with some non-european white, (tribes of white people that originally lived east of europe) and eastern european mixed in, I suppose.

muxec. I thought about putting Jewish in as an option, but decided that Jews are not a race. Jewish is, by my standards, a religion.

Except for culture and religion, Israeliis are identical to other Middler-easterners in physical apperance. They are most similar to extreme NW Saudis and southern Jordanians genetically.

but of course both groups are diverse. There are ashkenazic Israelis (like other ashkenazic jews) with blonde or red hair. There are also Indian, Ethiopian, and Moroccan Jews who are black, or almost black. There are occasional very light Palestinians (crusader ancestry?), and ISTR that most of the arabs in Jericho looked black (descendants of african slaves?).

So the idea of treating either group as a "race" is kind of silly. As is the equation of race with skin color. Didnt we cover this all some time ago?

morrocan jews are hardly black. I've met many with red hair, or skin colour that it is close to the skin colour of people with red hair. Generally, the more I observe it, the more I find jews and Israelis similar. Of course, we're very far from being an ethnically homogenous nation, but we're hardly the only nation that way, even old-style "ethnic" nations.
