	Question about flags. Support Apolyton, buy Civilization 2

I've noticed that places like the UK get to have their seporate Kindoms (ok, and Duchy) flags as well as their national flag. Why can't I choice a Californian flag instead of the US national flag? With the US being such a big place it would be useful to let a few of the larger states display their flags in the flag field section here on 'poly.

Australia should well before the US. One of our states alone would take up almost a third of the US's territory.

There are already enough flags. Many people don't even use their correct flag anyway. All you would do is get people trying to pick a unique flag for a state that noone lives in, like Utah.

Well... many people do not believe themselves to be British, but English, Scottish, Welsh et al. I recall my father refused to buy a mouthguard for rugby with the union jack on it, instead buying me one with the English flag on it. The Scots and the Welsh are just as uber-patriotic as well. Many people consider themselves not to be British, but English/Scottish/Welsh.

Quite frankly, I think US states are more pro-US than pro-state. After all, Scotland and Wales have their own parliament. They're pretty much seperate peoples with seperate historical backgrounds. You can't tell me a Welshman has the same culture as an Englishman as a Scotsman can you? The UK is three different peoples united under one flag who hate eachother.
