Disappointed about the severe lack of radio channels available that are dedicated to anything at all but horrific Top 40 europop, I'm going to try surfing around looking for some. I am mainly looking for rock radio (not a single one available here, as far as I know) and news radio with some background stuff on politics and culture (nothing here except for World Radio Network).
So, who listens to online radio and can you recommend anything?

There's a program called vTuner - I think I found it at download.com or something like that - and it's a really neat "tuning device" that provides a great overview on radio stations. It's just that there are so many to choose from and apart from sound quality, it's difficult to know how good it is unless you've given it some time.
Right now I'm listening to a Bavarian rock station playing Ozzy at very decent quality.

Hey Sloww,
That looks really neat. Is it as cool as the first look indicates?

Got it up and running already and CCR wishes to be enlightened regarding past meterological experiences. Does my selection mean that I'll only hear the selected bands or will they put in similar ones?

Until they started charging for their streams, I used to listen to JazzRadio.Net frequently. The Friday evening show is very good.
Once in a while, I tune in to Proton Radio, which broadcasts underground/house music.
I listened to NFL games via web radio last season.

When I get my broadband upgraded I might check out the online TV thingy, too. I wonder how far that goes.

It's not bad. My provider was part of a pilot with DSL television.
I participated in it, and it was quite good quality.
