	New Democracy Game: Faction Choice (ACTUAL!) Lose 30 kilos (of popups)

Since no-one else has done anything in the week I've been off Poly, I guess it's time to start bldgeoning this game into action. This first poll is on which faction to choose.

These choices are all thsoe mentioned as good in the discussion thread started by Makahlua some time ago.

Keep in mind we may alter the characteristics of some of the Factions/SE choices a little before play. This should regarded mostly as the Roleplay that is desired for this game.

What if we choose for an all-aquatic game? I don't know if a majority would be in favour of that, but IIRC there were several people in the other thread who approved.

I'd go for not all aquatic, but with ships costing less (and no Pirates). That way we get the large aquatic battles, but we also have a more typical game.

Not sure, HongHu, I'm just trying to get this thing rolling after a week of nothing.

However, that said, the discussion is not opposed to the poll.... We can still have an all aquatic game, choose one of the above factions and get Googlie or someone to mod them for us.

The believers would be nice, because of all the character in that faction and the pure conquest style would be cool....

Plus, they're not in the currect ACDG game and some variety is always nice

Well the problem is I at least would choose another faction dependent on what type of game we play.

The Hive looks to be winning (my vote too, by the way).

But I would be interested in all-aquatic if we could get it rolling, though it doesn't look like we will.

What's all this "but" stuff? Playing as any faction does not preclude any type of game. This should be regarded purely for roleplaying ideas rather than nailing down what the circumstances of our game are.

Having said that, is there a better way I (or anyone, hint hint) can go about polling for the new game conditions? I would be grateful if someone could come up with a better plan that didn't involve too much discussion without actually starting things along.

True, but it would be different roleplaying a land Hive than an aquatic one, so people may want to go for a different style RP for an aquatic game.

Not to mention the practicalness of perimeter defense on sea bases. They are useful to amphib assualt but not ships.

Though one advantage of playing the Hive would certainly be that discussions of FM versus Planned would be quite pointless.

We'll be starting with a disadvantage right? The Angels have this rebellious, underdog feeling...so i think that would fit nicely. And it doesn't really limit us on SE choices, does it?
