	Johnny Depp-What Were You Thinking? Support Apolyton or Terrorists Win

For those unfamiliar with Depp's comments, he referred to the USA as a dumb and dangerous, aggressive puppy with big teeth. The irony is that he said this about a week before his latest movie - Once Upon A Time In Mexico - was scheduled to hit movie theaters ( I can just see the steam coming from the ears of the movie's producers as he gives millions of people a reason to boycott). Good thing he waited until after Pirates of the Caribbean, but how smart can Depp be to antagonise so many movie-goers? He's come out recently and said his words were taken out of context and that he's sorry and that he was actually saying the USA is a young country still going thru it's growing pains - blah blah blah - so now two gaffs from the brilliant mind of Johnny Depp. Hey Johnny, if you think many Americans are idiots, FINE, I'd agree many are, but don't start running away from your analysis unless you think you were wrong. And for God's sakes, come up with a better rationalisation. Of course, how could you backtrack from that one?

I don't go to movies because I agree with the actor's political opinions. Hell, I wouldn't be able to go to many of the ones I do if that were the case. I go to be entertained.

maybe he disagreed with the movies plot and thought he'd just rubbish american or something (if they are connected).

Or, like most hollywood 'stars', he wanted to be seen as intelligent, and actually having an opinion of his own.

Why is he stupid for expressing a political opinion? He's no different from you in this regard, is he? You express political opinions all the time, why can't he? If a press outlet decides to give more weight to his opinion than warranted, that's their mistake, not his.

That's just how it is Boris, whether you like it or not.

If someone famous, especially an actor, says something that alot of people disagree with, alot of people are going to hate that person.

However, if someone famous says something most people agree with, they are going to like them even more.

Which is why Britney was smart and Johnny Depp was stupid.

The whole point of his backpeddling was to try and reverse the PR damage he had already done. (Which is why it's called backpeddling).

My respect for people who boycott art and artist due to their political opinions is extremely low overall: such weakminded persons that they need the imagined support of the famous to validate their ideas...pityful.

I won;t go see the movie, didn;t see desperado and am not that interested in spending 10 bucks on this, even if Salma is in it. Will wait till it's on TV.
