Fast Eddie and I came up with this, mainly FE who thought it would be perfect.
Any comments or suggestions would be very helpful.
In the Americas, possibly Africa, we have a unit called "Gold Mountain" "Silver Mountain" and maybe one more. This will be a no-move air unit, much like some of the mountains in Spartacus.
We then have a unit called a "Miner" (as in mining gold). This unit has the setting where it can only attack air units (attack of 1, so if it attacks a regular enemy unit, it will surely loose, but the defense of the mountain would be 0 or 1). When you attack the gold mountain, silver mountain, etc, you mine it. Each time this unit dies, you get gold in your treasury. I was thinking if I had the mountain to a defense of 1 and the miner to an offense of 1, the miner would fail in mining, making the unit die. Then you may need a few miners to complete the task. Or I may just have the mountain with a defense of 0, so every time a miner attacks, it wins, giving you money. The miner unit will come with the technology of "Stone Mining."
I am doing the same with a unit called a "Hunter" and then air units, like the helicopter, are roaming around the Americas. They will get created every few turns because they will be hunted or they will die off (or, in helicopter terms, run out of fuel).
I personally love these ideas.

WHAT? How else would you have Russia, or the Balkans, or Scandinavia? Italy was a bunch of City States at the time, and that would be no fun. Barbarian cities can simply be used for nuetrals, and not for actual barbarian activities.
