	Vox Pictoral Announcement Help yourself to an AD-FREE life

Citizens of the World...

It has been some time since Vox's exodus from North Estonia to our new home, and as the painful memories fade to nostalgia, we have come to accept our new land and have put all our energy into building a civilization to be proud of.

To commemorate the occasion, we Voxians have collected a number of 'images' which help tell the story of the Voxodus, and the re-building.

This is our Voxian Pictoral Announcement. ...Beta

1. The voyage is long, very long. Galleys must pass over the full length of the North Coast of Bob and then some, to get to Legos Minor - the land graciously granted to Vox by the noble and generous Legolanders.

2. Many Voxians take to the oar banks - Immortals, once on the front line against the Stormians, now toil day after day to speed our passage.

3. After months and months of toil, we arrive at Legos Minor - and what's this!!?? Voxians have already arrived and started settlements. How can this be? What form of nefarious wizardry is at work here? We approach slowly, and sure enough, it is our countrymen.

(in reality - a picture of the coast of Mykonos - not one of mine - although I have some fabulous pictures - but taken before I got a digital camera.)

4. Meanwhile - on land - the Voxians who arrived at the New Voice via nefarious wizardry, have started to speard out and explore the new land. It has been renamed Voxtavia. Lego did not over-advertise the geography, and for good reasons.

There are a lot of mountains.

(in reality, the Athabaskan Glacier flowing from the Columbia ice field in Jasper National Park in the Canadian Rockies. Photo taken from above the tree-line on the far side of the valley. You are also looking at a triple-continental divide - water from this point flows in three different directions to end up in three different oceans - Pacific, Atlantic, and Arctic.)

5. Undaunted, Voxian settlers head out in all directions. It s tough going, but Voxians are used to a rugged life, and the settlers know that the future of their civilization depends on them. In the distance - more mountains.

It is noteworthy that the industrious Voxian workers have already built a basic road network.

6. As these are desperate times - even Voxian Senators are pressed into action. Here Beta - still reeling from the crushing military defeat handed to the Voxian military - heads off to explore for new city sites. As he left the city - he was last heard mumbling - "First we build a barracks, then warriors, lots of them, and then we upgrade to Immortals! Ha!"

(in reality - yours truly on the back from the plain of the six glaciers in Banff National Park. The mountain in the back ground is Mount Victoria, the one in all the pictures taken from the Lake Louise Lodge.)

oooowwww, pleeease, tie me to that tree overthere, or I might go swimming across the ocean! I NEED TO go to America after seeing these pictures. Man, they're beautiful! Reminds me of Austria and Norway. I love the mountains.

Nice pictures Beta. Do you think there is a home for me on Voxtavia? I must get to there in some way, but I'm afraid the customs won't let me pass without a passport. Did you know that King Togas has forbidden any Spaniard to leave Spain without his permission, to ensure he has enough people to bear arms against the pagan Moors and evil Chinese?

Ah, I see the confusion. Did not the US also assist in NLs liberation? Or are you saying that Canada did it all by themselves? See, even you wrap-up the US and Canada in one basket (when talking about history).

7. The explorers and settlers continue on their way, in all directions, searching for the elusive source of water that will bring vitality to a re-born civilization. Alas, is it only a dream??

(in reality - Takkakaw falls in Yoho National Park. The highest waterfall in Canada, and as spectacular as it looks.)

8. And what do the Voxian explorers find? Rock and more rock. Mountains and more mountains. But undaunted, they press on.

(in reality - a view back towards Lake Louise taken from the plain of the six glaciers. Chateau Lake Louise is at the far end of the lake, and you can see the ski resort on the far mountain. The gravelly stuff is actual lateral moraines laid down by the retreating Victoria Glacier.)

9. Meanwhile, back in the New Voice, builders are putting the finishing touches on the Palace of the One.

(in reality - yes - you all recognize it. Some picture I snagged from someone's posted pics on the internet. I have some great ones taken in 2000, but unfortunately, not digital.)

10. And the scientists are working on a new secret weapon to ultimately counter Stormian Chickens.

"I give to the Voxian armed forces, The Voxian Bear. It will eat Chicken and Stormian Pikemen alike."

" Ah, Doctor StrangeVox, we are now at peace with the Stormians. OK? And viewers, please ignore the invasion plans in the background. They are nothing. Really."

(in reality - a display of a radio-collared bear who eventually had to be put down as he had become addicted to raiding garbage cans in civilized areas of Banff National Park. The arrows on the map represent his numerous, and quite distant relocations each time he was recaptured. .... I hope Vox's game is not destined to be like this. )

11. And out on the settler trail - you guessed it - more mountains. The explorers are awestruck by the scenery - the settlers long for grasslands and plains.

(in reality - Emerald Glacier in the President Range of Yoho National Park. This was on the one guided hike we we went on; to the Burgess Shale paleontology site - more on this later.)

12. And then we saw them. And we were terrified. It is a good thing that Voxian scientists are developing a secret weapon, because if these creatures are indigenous to this new land, how long will it be before MrWhereItsAt invades to claim his spoils.....

Well, the truth of the matter is that Legos Minor was already fully explored by Lego before we got there. They already knew what they were granting us and we knew what we were getting.

But since that ruins the story about the intrepid Voxian explorers, we'll just conveniently ignore that bit of history. OK.

As Citizen of Europe I'm used to think of 'America' as the continent, even from north to south half of earth, and not only a state.
