MOO2 and XP - reboot? Support Apolyton, buy Galactic Civilizations: Deluxe Edition

When I try to play Master of Orion 2... about 1 time out of 20 it'll work. But usually, I click on the .exe file to start the game, and I sometimes will get a brief glimpse of a screen stating the comp has to reboot, but it's so fast I can never read it because the comp reboots.

Any way to stop the auto-reboot, any patch, or way to adjust XP so this doesn't happen?

Support Apolyton, pre-order Civilization IV

Is this a fairly new system? Does it have a Radeon 9800 or some late model high end video card?
I switched to a new PC and starting having reboots and crashes from MooII in XP. It was working fine on my previous XP system.
I replaced the 9800 PRO with a new one and it stop for the most part. I do not get reboots and the game does not crash any more than it always did. That is once in awhile, it will crash, but it did that in Win98SE.

If these are not issues, then try to set the compat to 256 color. Then try compat for win95.
Good luck.
