Big news this turn
If you can make out the yellow border.
Here are the sunnies. For some reason they're on the wrong side aswell

Also of note, we have another jag kinda close, to the NE. Not shown in the picture is the fact that we are millitarily strong compared to them

We have 4 jags, that is all, what does this tell us of the make up of their forces?????

Also note the hut to the SW. We can pop it \O/ and even if it's barbs we can escape to the mountains with our 2 move jag, leave a nice present for the SS city.

Before you pop the hut: Remember to change the build(temporary) to something else, changes of getting a settler are supposed to be smaller if we have a settler or are building one.

cheers Bongo, does anyone know what the deal is with free tech from huts? Is it that you can't get any tech that you are researching or that hasn't already been researched by someone else?

Avatar Enlargement: We've got the solution

You can't get a tech you are researching from a hut, so if we are researching writing we can't get that from the hut. I don't know about the not getting a tech that has been researched by someone else, but I'm inclined to doubt it. Plus you have exactly 0 chance of getting a settler from a hut if you are building a settler. To have any chance at all of getting a settler you need to have no settlers, not be building any settlers, and have less than the average number of cities (I think it is at or below the average - it seems possible to get a settler when everyone has 1 city).

Hasn't latin lover found settlers already? Then everybody except them has below average number of cities.

Since we have 4 jags, 3 warriors or less would make them weak compared to us, 4 or 5 would make them average and 6 would make the strong. A complication crops up once we have differing numbers of cities, which isn't well understood AFAIK. We know that one warrior is out exploring, so as long as we are strong relative to them they can only have 2 regular warriors at home (all our jags are regular aren't they?)

If all our jags are regs, then all their warriors must be regs - one being promoted to veteran should be enough to make them 'average'. Conversely, they could have 4 warriors, but have two of them injured (one on 1 hp, one on 2 hp), which would also leave them average I think.

At any rate, they will only have 6 hp of warriors around their capital at best. Two jags don't give us good odds of taking down 2 fortified warriors (10.5%), although we have 63.3% against a single fortified warrior (73.3% against a single unfortified warrior). I don't think those odds are good enough to justify a quick strike. Finding an undefended city might just warrant an attack though...,
