Hi!

This thread is in order to ask for a desing of a icon for a civgroup. It can be as simple as the Civ2 Democracy game: Red Front icon, but with an EX instead of a RF.

What do you think? If I were able to use a "Pothoshop" program I will do it, but I'm the worst drawer of Europe

Can you post an image of it?

I don't see a problem using the star. It's on Israel's flag, and this is an Israel scenario.

If we can have the Red Star over at Red Front when representing a truly despicable government, I don't see how its any problem for representing a democracy.

we don't use the Red Star for our RF demo game, but I'm at least willing to consider using the Star of David, but I would want to see it first before deciding.

I like the Ex DG in the blue and White.

Keeps the colours of the flag of Israel without the Star of David.

But icons, such as your glorious Marshall icon, have the Red Star? Of course, that is personal choice.

I must say I am perplexed why people don't want it. PM me or whatever, I just want to know. Is it because it's religious, for political reasons, for what? I am not trying to rant, I am just curious.

The reason I don't really want to use the Star of David is because people might mistake this for an Israeli or a political civgroup and join it. I'd like to keep the fact that it's a game mentioned.

Here... this is the best I could manage. Recolorization is not as easy as one may think because there are a lot of colour shades in it.

Guys, I like the last one that Stefan has put. The more important thing is that it conserves the "style" of the others civgroups, as you can see there:

So, I suggest the second one. We already have a group (without an icon!) and DanQ has asked me for giving him an icon. As the blue one seems to be people's favourite, I'm going to send it. If later on we find a better icon, we can always change it.

I hope the first PM will give a medal to Stefan for that

Ok, PM sent. You can now join the CivGroup, however, it will not display icon until DanQ will update the civgroup

EDIT: It looks rather ugly without the icon, so I'd wait if I were you

Anyway, people explained to me why they don't want the Star, and it's a rather silly thing to get worked up for. I'll save my real fighting for later, by urging us to crush...errr...liberate our Arab neighbors.
