	newbie question Put an end to popups!

Before i buy the game - do you have to play campaigns or scenario or can you have "open play" on a random map?

You can do "Quick Battle" which is just "open play" on a random map. There are many fun little settings to choose from, as well.

Campaign or Quick Battle- your choice
With Quick Battle, you have maybe 10-15 different map choices (Southwest, Medeteranian, Steppe, Grassland, island, &c.). You can also change most of the game dynamics- faster/slower techs, more resources, difficulty, CIVS, victory conditions, and some others I'm forgetting.

You aren't really limited much.

On this thread topic...

I've tried to ignore RON thus far but I'm afraid I think I'm not far from getting it. Could anyone tell what the story is with scenario's for this game, I haven't been able to find any made. I've seen it has an editor - so why is this? (Note - when I say scenarios I'm thinking of civ like creations)

And if they can be made, can they be multiplayer?

With patch 3 you can play scenarios online. BHG has released a few scenarios, a europe one, a carribean something, and a couple others. There are a few scenarios created by users, though I havent tried any. The BHG scenarios are quite fun.

Cheers Halflotus - online scns are a good trend, the new empires game has it too. Where do you download the BHG scns, can't find them on the website?

Can anyone tell me where the scenarios Half Lotus was talking about can be downloaded? Can't seem to find them.

They were included in the patch 3 beta. If you didnt get the beta (it's closed now), you'll probly have to wait for it to be released officially. You might find someone to send you the beta file at RoN Heaven.
