WEll- then you could have a mid-level between emperor and deity.

and then Sid could be 20,000

Sid- 20K
Deity- 10K
Demigod- 5K or 6K
Emperor- 3K

Although, personally, i think that the Sid level is the only necessary one Demigod sounds sort of tacky I'd rather be an emperor than a Demigod

You could try to get more posts than the person immediately above you in the Top 20 posters chart that's what keeps me active alhtough make a conscious effort to make every one of my posts count- which translates into many hours spent on apolyton- especially since I've already discussed most things worth discussing.

Ahem... That is, most OT regulars... I hope since this is still an Apolyton *Civilization* site, and not Apolyton OT site, that one does not define a person as a regular by the amount of posts they make in the OT.

Well, as it is, it will only take a few more years with the current system that the DG activists will start to reach the Deity level in larger numbers as DGs create loads of accounted posts (actually could beat even the OTF easily), so maybe then it will be a good idea to change the rankings or make DG posts unaccountable like the OTF. Generally speaking I agree that the scale has to be tighetened quite soon, unless new titles are added after Emperor, because Emperor will otherwise become a very common title.

Sorry, but it's pretty hared to deny that the DGs are on topic.

I predict most DGers will become bored and fade away long before they reach deity. (But I must admit, 6K in a year is pretty outrageous.)

edit: (Though of course I'm biased as last year in July I only had some 900 posts...)

DG's contribute to the site in their own way. Their post counts should stay, and continue to be a source of +1's.

But then OT posts contribute to Apolyton too - many people stay here just for the OT discussion.

I agree that OT is part of the site and does make a definite contribution to Poly's cultural gestalt, albeit non-Civ-related. Maybe OT posts should have a prorated count, maybe +1 per 10 posts, or +1 per thread...
