	New Post Count Levels Support Apolyton, buy Civilization III: Complete

...With the incoming release of Civilization: Conquests add-on, there will be two new levels- Demigod and Sid... just wondering, will Apolyton add these levels

I doubt that dan/mark will expend the time- but it is worth wondering... strange that Sid has achieved super-deity status in his games

Interesting idea, we are starting to become a polytheistic society with all the dieties running around.

Would you be suggesting Demigod take Diety's place and adding Diety and Sid as higher levels?

Out of 40,000 plus members, only 7 people are at Deity level, with only 3 other members close with post counts in the 8 thousands... Doesn't seem like a lot of Deities running around to me

When I see a deity running around, I can only imagine how much time they must have spent posting to reach that level. Heh. I love Civ as much as anyone else ... but to post enough to reach deity in anything less than five years? Ha! Not likely. Well, unless I become unemployed or something.

But Yes I agree. At least my 8000 or so posts are stretched out over a long time. When I see someone with 6000-7000 posts and they've only been active for a year, I get worried.

What's the point in adding new levels? with only 7 people with deity status there's no point in wasting Dan's time.

Of course, MarkG could add the new levels while using his cell phone...

Wasn't this topic discussed a while back anyway? I think it was in the civ3 general forum actually.

I thought that the Civ2 poster levels were being kept since Apolyton covers several different games, not just Civ3.

Apolyton is slowly evolving from a Civ site to a strategy gaming site.

Thus I think it would be a bad idea to keep everything (incl. poster levels) focused only on Civ.

That depends on whether the levels advocated come after Deity, or another one slips in at 6K say.

I think most everyone is used to the poster levels as they are right now anyway. I wouldn't mind seeing them changed to civ3 levels, but it's not really a big deal to me.

So I'm entitled to my opinion. At least it's based on experience.

Ah, yes, what you really mean is the more experienced players at Apolyton who didn't accept Civ III as the next instalment of the greatest turn based strategy game ever created.

I started with Civ (which I should make me one of the more experienced Civ players) as did many Apolytoner's, but am among the minority at Apolyton who found enjoyment when playing Civ III.

Yes, well my post count is completely meaningless compared to how many posts I have actually made...I've had PCRs and then the OT posts not counting. I would hate to think what my real post count is, but probably above anyone else's

Indeed. Once you reach Emperor, there is no major goal to shoot for. You need to more than triple your post count just to get to the next rank.
