I believe Elvis HIRED LBJ to kill Kennedy, but LBJ just threw him in the NYC sewers, thinking that the alligators would get him, but George W Bush went back in time and bombed them all saying freedom would be restored to the New York sewers. Meanwhile, Amelia Earhart, who had witnessed the faking of the moon landing in the Arizona desert, got brutally attacked by a man with a hook for a hand, (also hired by Elvis) because she knew too much, but survived, but then Elvis convinced her that Bigfoot did it, but she thought that was a code word for Kennedy (they both have EXACTLY SEVEN LETTERS) so she shot JFK from the grassy knoll.

The VP of the US has absolutely no power whatsoever. His only job is to step in should the Prez die and vote in the Senate in the event of a tie. Unless the Prez gives him something to do.

He didn't have to acept the nomination for VP. Up until GHWB, it was the kiss of death to political careers.

It's well known that Johnson hated the Kennedy's, and they had little respect for him either. But anyone who thinks Johnsn and the military colluded is crazy. Johnson had nothing to offer the military that Kennedy hadn't already given them. In spite of liberal myth that Kennedy wasn't going to expand the war in Vietnam, he showed every sign of preparing to do so.

Che, but why Texas? LBJ controlled Texas. There is nothing that could have happened in that state without LBJ knowing about it or condoning it, even if he were not directly behind it.

Also, I half recall that Kennedy promised LBJ an important role in the upcoming administration in order to get him to give up his position as Senate majority leader.
