	Siro goes to Spain - any tips? Avatar Enlargement: We've got the solution

I will be leaving to spain shortly and will be there between the 25th of September and the 2nd of October.

It's an organized tour. We shall live in a resort, and get a tour to another part of spain every day.

It will focus mostly on Northern and Eastern Spain, as we will live in a resort located near Barcelona.


Any tips?

Any basic useful Spanish vocabulary I should know?

Vocabulary, in my experience, is going to be pretty damn useless. If you make even a minute deviation from the proper pronunciation then people will look at you like you're speaking Navaho.

Ummm.... you're going to be on day trips to northern Spain from Barcelona? You know how *big* spain is, right? Better your backside than mine.

But seriously, have fun. Spain's a beautiful country, especially if you get out of the towns.

All I remember from Barcelona

-Los Caracolas -good food- I think its rather exclusive and expensive nowadays

-some club - waiters in tux's pouring G&T's by hand minimum 4-5 oz/drink (hence the lack of memory). Little Spanish boys who didnt know how close they were to a beating when they hit on "our wimmin".

All I remember from Taragona (south of Barcelona ?)

-Great restaurants and bars

-Cutting the sweetness of Quatro trieze (I think thats close to how its spelled) at some outside tapas bar with vodka (again poured by hand and no measuring).

-good calamari and Paella

Ecth: I'm not sure, I don't exactly remember if I can visit east germany or not. But I know I can't visit many states previously under serious KGB influence, and you know Shtazi and KGB were terribly friendly.
