Turn 32 - 2510bc Support Apolyton buy from Amazon

Writing will finish in 9 turns, btw.

Izzardia:

We have 2 unhappy labourers and only 1 happy labourer. It seems like we'll have to switch one of the labourers into an entertainer.
Which leaves us with this....

OK? Or is there a better plan I'm missing?

I haven't sent the turn yet.

Support Apolyton, pre-order Civilization IV

Use the luxury slider! Keep the laborers on the land, and increase the luxury spending. 10% luxury spending should do the trick.

It is always better to use luxury spending than to turn citizens into entertainers in core cities, especially the capitol.

The tile the citizen was working is bringing in 1 commerce per turn. The city is bringing in 12 total. At 10%, I think 1 commerce (the very amount brought in by the laborer we're talking about) gets turned into luxury spending (could be 2 if rounded up for some reason). So, while the commerce from that tile gets eaten, we still gain the benifit of the incoming food and shields from that tile. In short, I really hope you see this before you send the turn!

Support Apolyton, buy Galactic Civilizations

We could shave a turn off our settler if we're willing to slow down Izz's growth slightly.

We're currently at 11 shields, +6/turn. 6x4 = 24, though only 19 are required to finish the settler.

Therefore, all we need to do is squeeze 1 turn of +7 shields (2x6 = 12 + 1x7 = 19) to get the settler early.

Izz will hit size 6 in 2 turns. At that point, we can allocate to get +7 shields (dropping us to +3 food) and punch out the settler the very next turn. I think.

I should try and update that scenario you made us, FP, and test it.

Done.

Luxuries set to 10%. Worker and labourer instructions for next turn duly noted.

I'll try and find time to update that scenario over the next few days.

Full PM-box? Change here!

That would be cool, but no biggie if you don't have time. I should probably fiddle with the editor and figure out how to use it properly anyway.

p.s. So I think we've established that we have a duet going here. That doesn't bode particularly well for CoD's long-term health.
