My japanese language teacher was trying to explain to her students the reason for the study methods she was using in class, as well as the slow rate of progress. Unfortunately, her English was less than perfect. The phrase, "you are like children," left her lips- referring to of course their ability to speak japanese was similar to a young japanese person.

Needless to say, to a group of kids taking their 1st steps into the adult world, it wasn't received well.
