I'm going to say this, as a left-winger...I thought that Iraq DID was WoMD's prior to the war (tho' as Agathon says, nothing substanial) and I really had to do some serious thinking before deciding I was in favor of going into Iraq, IF it was done right. Whatever else, Saddam and his cronies are/were bastards who slaughtered Iranians, Kurds, and "enemies of the state". We on the Left seem to have forgotten our own position on Saddam (atl east, it seems so in the media)in the 80's and 90's, and there's plenty of leftist literature from that period pointing out the scum the Baathists are, and calling for their removal.
That said, my support is limited. I want actual success in Iraq, setting up a true democracy run by Iraqis and allowing them to run their country their way. But for some dumb-azz reason I allowed myself to hope even for a moment that Bush and his cronies would allow self-rule and not give oil/rebuilding contracts to all of the Republicans' donor list. Along with our "shoot from the hip" diplomacy vehmented at our allies- our ALLIES for God's sake- it's no wonder most of the world is skeptical of our intentions there.
Look, I'm still hopeful. But you right-wingers need to see how stupid supporting Bush is making you look. And if you continue to support a guy whose administration is best known for gaining power thu a coup de 'etat, lying to the American people, and rolling back our civil liberties for dubious (dubyaous?) reasons, well, then you get what you deserve.

WMD or no WMD, it makes no difference. Saddam was/is a jackass, why do people insist on creating a pissing contest out of something that everyone in their right minds realize had to be done. It may have taken longer than it should have, but Saddam needed to go. Now, he's gone so let's quit *****ing, and move on with creating a new government for a new Iraq.
