Earthquakes threaten Japan Put an end to popups!

Japan earthquake

quote:

Dozens of aftershocks rocked Japan's northern island of Hokkaido on Saturday, keeping residents busy picking up fallen books and sweeping up glass a day after a major earthquake.

At least two people were still missing in wake of the magnitude-eight quake, the most powerful worldwide in more than two years. Nearly 600 people were injured, some seriously.

The quake was followed by more than three dozen aftershocks -- some as powerful as magnitudes 6 and 5.2 -- that caused more damage and sent more belongings crashing to the floor.

I am surprised that nobody has posted this yet. A Richter scale magnitude 8 earthquake!

What's more, though, is I heard on the news that Japan is entering its 100-year cycle of violent earthquakes. Ouch!

Maybe they can file a protest with the U.N. for terroristic threats.
Like that will do a lot of good.

The most amazing thing is that they were hit with a magnitude 8 quake and no one died (at least as of now). They're really prepared for this type of stuff.

I maybe heard one mention of this -- the news here was mostly about drunken Italians stumbling around and brawling in the dark while yelling at the French.

Maybe, I was really angry at my school administrators and students a few days ago.

The fact that the epicentre was out in the ocean may have a lot to do with it.

Being at the epicentre of a R8 quake is very low on my list of priorities.

Support Apolyton, buy Civilization: The Boardgame

I got my earthquake preparation book at school today. It stars a catfish in a mortar board that tells you what to do if an earthquake strikes. Quite entertaining.
