The faculty has been discussing the the matter of a possible pact. The current mood is quite favorable to the idea. I would be most interested in further discussions on this matter.

personally my view is that we should explore the possibilities of a permapact with them-- I don't think we will win this game solo so an ally would be beneficial. The university seems to be researching better than the cycon and so far our dealings have been really easy . . . we make trades in like 2 messages .


So I favor pact for trade-- I also favor us choosing an ally and perma-pacting with them. I voted to pact since i wish to have the pact even without tying ourselves to them but I really think we should look at finding an ally to the end here

I'm saying semi- perma pact for now; like 30-40 turns to feel out each other and see if we -are- compatible, I mean look where our feelings for the Borg have ended up

After that if we're getting along, start negotiating a to-the-end one

I agree, our dealings with the Uni have been relatively smooth. I also agree with Maki on the idea of a pact, subject to review, every 20/30 years.

From our research I am not sure that the PUT have met anyone else, so our Pact deal will show them who we have contact with the world and his aunt. This will create new pressures.

I think that the few pressures that them seeing who we have contact with will be only bothersome on the short term.

I agree with the Pact Review every 20/30 years, in fact, perhaps we should do that with all of our treaties and pacts at the same time.
