	Off Topic - PBEM help Support Apolyton

Hey,

Just need some info in a PBEM I am playing.
And I dont want to ask on the strategy forum because it will give me away.

I read somewhere, that if you build the Great Library...
1. You get all techs that 2 other civs know.
2. The game then it checks if you have education.
3. Then the GL become obsolete.

In my PBEM... my two "opponents" have a tech embargo against me.
They are pushing Democracy / Astronomy... and I am yet to get Education.

I can build the GL before the other two.
So do I get all of their techs ?


A bit of background ....
Apparantly... my "war mongering" background is disliked by my two Lego friends.
And I have already killed off the Chinese
(Something I have a habit of doing eh Panzer )

And using my scouts, I whored their techs and got a 2 tech advantage early in the game.

They aligned, and embargoed me. (Driven by Tib, my new neighbour)
Tib cranked off his GA with wonders, and built a huge military to ensure I would not attack.
- It worked -

So I have been playing my erratic best.
I have been totally out-of-control with my emails.

Cursing/threatening....
Marching settlers up to Tibs border
Moving scouts into his territory.

Trying to make him start a war against me.
Then refuse to accept peace ... Make him try to dig me out with a costly war, while I fight defensively.

I was sure he would not do it ... but he finally cracked it and killed my scout (inside his territory) and 1 galley (Also inside his territory).



I doubt he really wants to war ... maybe ... but I have to manouver some ansars into position to protect my front.


Anyway ...
I can still switch my capital to the GL.
So do I get the techs or not ?

Yes, the GL will give you EVERYTHING that is available when it is built.

It will probably be a one shot wonder though, you'll catch up technologically to Education then it ends. Let us know if it gives you more advanced techs than Education.

It does advance you past education. But only on the turn it is made.

I was a bit shocked when it happened, but it does. Read the thread I linked to.
