Turn 35 - 2390 B.C. Avatar Enlargement: We've got the solution

CA finishes Worker (Jonas). C grows to size 5 and has 1 unhappy citizen. If we raise the luxury slider, research towards Iron Working goes from 2 to 3 turns. The only way to keep it at 2 is to switch one citizen in C to a scientist. I would go that way. Launcelot goes 8 and uncovers the last black spot between us and CoD (see screenshot). I'm halting the game here, because I want some discussions about the city placement. From this decision depends also, where Jonas will go. My suggestion is either Camelot 777 or Camelot 88, and irrigate the grapes in both cases. YMMV, discuss.

Just throwing a thought out here, but what about going Camelot 2222 with this one to try to get the grapes to the south and give ourselves a buffer between Camelot and CoD? We know we've got the northern grapes when we want them, and this would give us a southern city capable of settler production. Unless CoD already has a settler underway with an eye on that area, we wouldn't have any competition getting to it, and with my hesitation to even consider a four tile move, I doubt they're looking that far yet. I don't think we've got a road on Camelot 2, but if we did, that cuts it to a three turn move.

Got spare money?

I'd thought we were going for a closer placing than that. Something like Camelot 88, for the close space, and the grapes.

Tired of ads?

I think we are. I'm just wondering if it wouldn't be better to be a bit more agressive with this settler and pick our spacing back up with the next one, since there's no potential competition for the northern grapes.

We need to think RCP. Although it will be patched out in C3C, I'm afraid in PtW it will persist. C2222 is a good site for the second ring. It would be 2 rings then with distance 3 and 6. Other viable sites for distance 6 in the direction of CoD would be C333332 and C111112 (the rectangular cape).

The question is, should we build them now or try to get a border agreement with CoD.

Increase Your PM Length

I vote for C88.

We should start a road south so our next settler can get there faster.

C88 is it then, for this time. Jonas will be moved to build a road to the south.

Have you tried working the lake in CA to increase trade? Using a scientist for 1 turn won't hurt our growth, but we should put him back to work next turn if at all possible.

I'm doing so permanently, of course. 2 turns the lake with 3 shields, 1 turn at two mines with 4 shields (1 lost to corruption).
