My Secret Project:) Got spare money?

I wasn't going to reveal this until I was further along, but what the Tartarus. Guess what the map is of (considering the current education standards...). Any and all geographical suggestions will be appreciated.

P.S. Mountains have been replaced with Coniferous Forest.

One question- what are the little islands in the mid Atlantic? The only thing I can think of is Bermuda, which is a lot further west, south of Newfoundland.

The islands seem to me to be the Azores (sp?).

Also, as a very uncreative and slow-minded person I had to think "Colonization" when I first saw the map.

Era of Napoleon Bonaparte?
Or plain colonization?
(I wonder why noone has mentioned WW2 yet... even the "secret project" by Polaris was thought by someone to be WW2)

If it was WWII, it'd be really one-sided. The US would be huge while Germany, USSR, and Japan are either not even represented or very small.

Definitely something to do with the era of colonization. The fact that Europe is small while the rest of the world is ripe for expansion would certainly indicate that.

Just as a warning about the nile: The ancient Egyptians had real trouble with the cataracts (I hope I spelt that right), sets of unnavigable rapids. This would make it impossible to sail from Alexandria to Khartoum. There's also the matter of Niagra Falls: it appears you can sail straight down the St Lawrence to the great lakes.

Every day ships sail into and out of the great lakes via the St Lawrence. However, as far as I know, a ship has never entered the great lakes via the Mississippi River.

Any and all geographical suggestions will be appreciated.

I think I need to dither the Tundra/Forest boundary.

Why does Colonization pop into my head when I see that map...

Because that is the most logical guess.

The ancient Egyptians had real trouble with the cataracts (I hope I spelt that right), sets of unnavigable rapids.

I am sure Arabs can drag ships overland or something.

However, as far as I know, a ship has never entered the great lakes via the Mississippi River.

If you look closer, one would have to build a city there for that to happen.

Tired of ads?

You got to be kidding. With a map like this, it could be just about anything. If you want to use part of the globe, just crop out the standard world_large map that's with the game.

No, it's an unconventional approach to colonization (not reverse colonization).

I have not really asked you guys to guess what it will be about.

If you want to use part of the globe, just crop out the standard world_large map that's with the game.

...or get MapUtil and visit GLOBE Project (I recommend using the colour versions).

No way to hurt you, it was only a joke ( a bad one, true, but still only a joke )...
Sorry, Mik... i was kidding in my previous post...
Anyway, this thread interests me also; i have used coniferous forest in my Kok Turk scenario, so i wanted to see the effect on another scenario ( just for compare & improve mine, you understand? ).
What about a more close view, St Leo?

Okay, but the only thing I have so far is the map and a good notion of what to do next. Don't expect this one done for a couple months.
