	Turkish Civil War Support Apolyton, buy Galactic Civilizations: Deluxe Edition

I'm currently designing a scenario on the Turkish Civil war. Unfortunatly there isn't much info in the book shops. I'm particularly having problems with the Southern front. Any info is greatfully received.

I assume you mean the Turkish War of Independence (1918-1923). Try doing some web searches using those words, and even the names of individual battles (Inonu, Sakarya River, etc.) Here's a few links:

IMHO this is a terrific scenario idea (I have an MA in Middle Eastern Studies), and have, to a certain extent, studied this topic. Hence, here are a few thoughts -- some of which you may be already aware of:

*In the early years of Ataturk's rule, there was a massive population switch between ethnic Greeks who lived on Turkish soil and vice versa. Something like 1 million people ended up being forcibly relocated. Anyhow, perhaps you could integrate a "refugee" fuction, a la Red Front, into this scenario.

*A good book to read on this subject is David Fromkin's "A Peace to End All Peace."

*If you can find a site for the Turkish national museum, that might be useful (I was there a few years back). Also, britannica.com is always a good source for general information.

Sortub. I'm probably wrong since you're the one with the MA, but I thought the relocation was after the war.

I think you could very well be right -- I did say the early years of Ataturk's rule. My background lends me special interest in your scenario, but I am no expert on the conflict. Good luck with it. :embarrassed:

No need to be embarrassed, it'll probably be dreadful, knowing my standard. One other thing. Some of my sources use the modern names of places, such as Izmir, while others use names like Smyrna. I'm guessing the new names were implemented by Ataturk, but I'm not sure.
