Contrary to the predictions of most legal experts, the preliminary hearing did go forward today. Here's some of the key evidence presented regarding the victim's testimony and other evidence that has been presented by the prosecution so far.

The woman said that Bryant forced her to kiss his penis after the attack, Winters testified. He said a nurse who examined the woman later at a hospital found injuries consistent with a sexual assault.
The prosecution presented photographs showing injuries to the victim, including one of a bruise on her jaw. |

It looks like an entirely new damming piece of evidence was mentioned at preliminary hearing.

This is going to be really hard to explain how it would be consistant with concensual sex. If Kobe didn't even bother to take off his shirt, that would seem extremely odd for consensual sex for the first time between two individuals. You'd also think that Kobe would want to avoid a situation where he has to explain bloodstains to his wife, particularly if there is no sign of a scab on himself. It also suggests she bled alot, which does strike me as unusual given that it does seem to be pretty much aknowledged that she wasn't a virgin at the time of the rape.

I've got an update on the situation with the blood on the shirt.

Streaks suggest that it was a significant amount of blood. I also don't see any way streaks could occur if Kobe wasn't wearing his shirt at the time of the actual sexual act.

I'm thinking that given the nature of the rape, it was hiked up a bit and that portion was turned inside out. Frankly, I admit it seems odd, but I don't see a better explanation for it. I certainly have alot of trouble seeing any other way the blood gets on the inside of the shirt.
