To those who support the war in Iraq-I would like you to debate me in this thread. I am trying to prove that the war in Iraq was such a bad idea that someone against the war, who has poor debating skills, can singlehandedly (which means I don't want outside help) beat any amount of those who support the war in an argument. So, bring it on!

Why don't you start by giving reasons that the war was a bad Idea. I'm gonna go get a beer, then I'll be right with you.

OK, but it would be easier if the other side started out first. First off, why go into Iraq? Please give your reasons before refuting any of my arguments. Most of my arguments are rebuttals to the conservative arguments. But here's some of the bad effects from the war.

Blatant violation of international law.
The Iraqi people won't get the benefit of the oil.
The world hates us even more now. More terrorists
will be recruited, more lives will be lost from their attacks.
Our troops are in a terrible position right now, and
it is causing many lives to be lost.
The war is taking away many troops from other places they could be, such as Afghanistan or another intervention that might be needed.
Saddam has no WoMD.
Saddam will probably not be killing people because he
is skating on thin ice.
We won't be able to put together a democracy there.
The Iraqi people don't have much say in how their
government is being formed.
The war has cost many (estimates around 50,000) innocent lives.
Iraqi infrastructure has been wiped out. There has
been much bad looting.
The war has cost a whole lot of money, which is
putting the US in major debt.
The policy in Iraq is telling other nations, "If you
want to disagree with the US you better have nukes."
It also is telling the world that international law is irrelevant, and I don't think anyone would think that's a good idea.
If there was any WoMD, it probably is in the hands of
someone we don't trust now after the anarchy and the looting.

So now, are there any reasons to go into Iraq?

Hey, I'm not sure if I'm a communist yet. I'm a leftist, but I haven't decided whether communism or democratic socialism is better. I have corresponded with many of the communists on the forum, and I have gotten some excellent info and responses on communism, and I sent a PM to practically all of the communists and I listed the pros and cons of capitalism and communism. I told them that if they could refute the pros of capitalism and the cons of communism and prove to me which is better, then I'd make my decision. Unfortunately no one has responded yet and I'm afraid no on ever will.

And how did USA get 2 points? All he did was tell me to state my arguments, he didn't state any of his own. It should have been 0-0 when you said that, and I posted my arguments so I should get points.

But in this debate points don't matter. That's right, the points don't matter, just like in the Drew Carey Show.

Did you catch the pun? Points as in arguments (like my main point is) and points as in the score I was talking about. Hahahaha, I am so funny.
