Good. Better they hear an 'unbiased' (and editted for truth) version from us than PEACE's version on the main thread. It will also go a long way towards securing trust, as they will think we thought we owed it to them to come out with this black mark at the beginning.

ok we got the turn: they give the HIVE-commlink and treaty for Believers commlink and treaty....i say do it...we can start talking with the Hive soon about the techs they need to pay back the drones.

should we ask if they have any interest in doc: ini? with HEC and nonlmath soon we dont need to worry about cruisers from the drones i think.

doc: ini against eth calculus? does that seem fair?


btw some intelligance data...i dont believe they are on the same island as we are. I believe they got a unity foil. i am fairly certain of it btw...they have met the hive. (which isnt on our island thats for sure (googlie wont put 3 on one island) and well the hive doesnt have foils either....so the hive or the drones has to have a unity foil...i because the drones are here and the hive is not i am betting on the drones...

DBTS: Yes let's agree to the Drones deal, it looks good, and then I can PM Voltaire about PEACE.

As for the Doc Ini deal, I say go for it. If we don't, PEACE might. However, wait until the MCC is complete, since the Drones may have an SP base lying around that we don't know about. Build the MCC and then trade IMHO. Meanwhile, the Hive have Gene Splicing, Eth Calc and Doc: Loyalty that we don't, and they owe the Drones Doc: Flex, Biogen and Doc: Mobility. I can see a very good 3 way trade there

Someone else said that the Hive will then have all commlinks, and need votes for Planetary Council. If we offer them that, and out votes for the Planetary Council (Hive or Rose IIRC) then they may accept it, even though we get better techs. What do you think?

Perhaps this is too late already, but wouldn't it be better to offer the Angel commlink. If we give the believer frequency to the Drones they might buy NonlMath from them...

It might be a good idea to tell the drones about the hord of mind worms that are to the south of the infantry unit. They will either do one of 2 things, keep going south and aproatch our territory and run into the worms or they will retreat north.

I dont think we want them to keep moving south, first off it reduces the value of any map exchange we conduct in the future. Secondly it give them information they could use against us some day. If the Drones are not on our land mass and got their my transport then we can not found out ware they are but they will find out ware we are.

If they deside not to head our warning and are subsecuently destroyed by worms then we look good for warning them and we dont losse anything.

If they turn around we might gain valuable insight as to how they got that scout patrol ware it is and ware their bases our.

We want to cultivate a good relationship with the Drones as we can not afford 2 wars at the same time and when the Drones see us at war with PEACE they might be tempted to attack us from the oposite direction.

I am also wondering about the long term potential to conduct tec for unit exchanges with the Drones. We would trade them tecnologies, they would manufacture the armies and gift them too. Each faction would thus be consentration on its strengths and having its weakness suported, kind of an oposites atract kind of thing.

At the least we could float this idea too the drones. They would see that it is in our best interest to coperate, which could help restore our reputation after the whole PEACe debacale. The other factions are probly starting to catch on the the fact we are very Mackiavelian. They will need to see that it is strongly in our own interests to coperate before they comit to some kind of trade with us.

This will make the inevitable back stab of the Drones that much better!

Another remark:
since we're on the same continent (at least if that scout wasn't dropped there by a transport, we'll know soon when we trade maps), maybe it would be wise to discuss factional territory. Some things like respecting borders, how far both of us get to found cities on the continent, moving military and probe units in the other's empire, etc...

I think that when the Coloy Pod at Matrix is finished we should send it a long ways out to extend our territory. Their are a lot of mineral and nutrient bonus out in that area but we will also need an escort because of the mind worms.

If the Drones are not on our land mass then we should claim the whole thing.

You have some points, however we also want to keep our supply lines short. We lose a lot of turns if the Colony Pod spends a lot of time travelling (or worse yet, being destroyed). I'm coming out with a new base site poll soon, so everyone can vote then.

Already been done. We have many crawlers being built, and we need the MCC ASAP, as the naval yards give our sea units better morale, combined with the extra movement for our cruiser that's out, and to stop anyone else getting it first.

I'll talk to buster about trading Doc: Ini now, since we have the MCC sown up.
