Yes.

Orange juice does count as a portion. Best to have your 5 portions from as varied a selection as possible.

Dont forget your leafy greens! They have iron...or some type of other mineral...or some vitamin...well, its something that apparently you dont get from much other food (although having said that, isnt there iron in red meat?I'm a little out of my depth here). Supposedly the best anti-carcinogens as well.

I think I have more than 5...but then my diet consists of salads, fruit and pasta (not forgetting chocolate and vodka, of course )

Support Apolyton, buy Galactic Civilizations

I eat bananas all the time. I eat 1 a day usually. they are great to put in my lunch because they are not messy, and easy to eat in the car.

I also buy apples or nectarines or peaches. I also eat my prunes. No, I'm not old . I prefer more natural means of ... being regular. I will never take laxatives.

And the only thing I drink besides water is 100% real juice. Usually orange, grape, or apple juice.

As for vegetables I eat lettuce and tomatos all the time with my sandwhiches and burgers/chicken breasts I make on my george forman grill. Pickles as well- though I'm not sure if pickle has any nutritional value. Sometimes my tv dinners will have corn, peas, or mashed pototoes in them. But that's pretty much it for me and vegetables. I never really liked vegetables. Oh, and my pizzas usually are supremes- so they have black olives and mushrooms, and onions and such.

A glass counts as one, but you may only count one juice per day. Salad counts, but it is best to have a varied intake, as has been said. A depends on the fruit/vegetable, but is often more than people think.
