I don't think you would Hot_E, if the catapoults attacked then they used up their moves and I don't think they bombard on defense until the start of your next turn. Thats how it seems to work in single player against the ai anyways.
But if they have cats present they do at least still have to be there (due to being 1 move units that can't die from attacking), and we'll see them in the investigation.

Wrong about the WW, if we don't do anything with the WF. You can do that and find out next turn that we have 1 city that is under Civil Disorder.
And If you do that, then I will resign and call for a CoC on all of the consuls who make a desicion like that. I DO KNOW WHAT I AM TALKING ABOUT!!!
The continual production in all of our cities is more paramount than seeing if it won;t happen. Because it will.
Now, we talked about getting the new lands that are open to us for new cities, let's finish what we have started (i.e. that one settler) and then we can start on a Marketplace. But doing that, while we are at war and not yet certain that we won't need an additional unit (or 2) from that city is also not a good idea. Until We either have Algalord in our hands OR they have razed it and we are about to take their Capitol AND they still don't have Iron, then I will recommend building a Marketplace. At 10 sheilds per turn, IT will NOT be finished before the end of the war. Expanding our territory and getting more cities for our GA is more of a paramount issue that a few GPT at this stage of the game.

Well, back on topic (please guys - let us stay focussed on the task at hand):
if we build that settler, then we will have lower pop for a time, which will aid in countering the effects of WW. The gold we have is not going towards very much right now, which is a result of our 10spt cities. If we keep the 10spt, then the gold is not of any great use to us right now, as units will still stream out every 3-4 turns - only a huge amount of gpt would speed that up.
Risking damaged NMs? Fine, but only if were extremely confident of victory and if we had a few to play with - with only 2 left in that stack I must insist we conserve them unitl we get sufficient replacements.
Now that we have lost a substantial number of 1 move-per-turn units, we must seriously look at our unit queues - these units take 3-4 turns to build and then 4-5 turns to move to the front, so we must ensure we have a healthy surplus for losses just such as we have incurred. Horsemen can be at the front in a shorter time, and they have been of little use to us so far. Yes I realise Horsemen will be great to upgrade to Knights, but that is not a short-term prospect. Short-term, we can expect engagements like the one at Algalord - with heavily fortified enemy positions that require maximum firepower to do any damage at all - thus we need the NMs and MIs.
