Alright, time to decide on our next tech.

Ethical Calculus: This tech will provide us access to democracy and children's creches, and will allow us to research Gene Splicing and Intellectual Integrity in the future. However, PEACE, the Hive, and the Drones all have it, and a trade looks very likely (not with PEACE, of course).

Progenitor Psych: Will give us aquafarms, as well as the ability to research Adaptive Economics and Field Modulation. PEACE has this tech, but trade will be almost impossible. Techsteal, however, looks likely.

SOTHB: Will provide us with the trance ability, and Centauri Empathy and Neural Grafting. Others have this to trade.

Nonlinear Mathematics: This is obvious, but the Believers have it and will trade it for 150ec.

Don't forget that if we trade, we can switch with no penalty.

Obviously NonLMath first, but normally we'll obtain it in 3 turns from the Believers

For the tech following I've not decided yet. Anyone with good arguments?? I'm really not in favor of EthCalc, because we can easily trade for it or probe it from Peace

And remember, if you start researching a tech then get it in a trade, other choices might appear for you (eg if you start, then get EthCalc, and Gene Splicing appears, and then you get that in a trade (or steal it) then SFF with its soon-to-follow holy grail of D:AP might appear)

If, on the other hand, you select Cyberbanana, ( ) then you're locked into that until you get it researched.

Hopefully the issue will be Moot as we will hopefully have aquired all of thouse through trade or conquest before our next tec is finished researching.

As soon as new research options are opened up we should go for them. So what ever we are researching now is just a place holder.

Thus our choice should be based on lulling our oponents into a false sense of security so go with something pacifistic.

That's assuming our opponents know what we're going to be researching... to the best of our knowledge, not even PEACE has our infiltration data. In addition, even though we hope to get all those before next tech, we are not guaranteed to do so. We should probably, therefore, choose a tech that we will get quickly. Also, none of us are really thrilled about any of these techs. If we choose one we'll get quickly, then we have the option of switching sooner.
