Actually, have you watched television lately? Or looked at a recent copy of Cosmo? Sheesh, those women make me want to diet - I already wear a size 0 (supposedly the smallest size you can buy in women's clothing) and next to those women I look like a 1,000 lb shut-in.

Most anime is just commecial entertainment. There are exceptions, but most of it doesn't fit into what I'd classify as art (same goes for US television and any recent cinema).

Heh. There's styles among anime, as well. You can probably find at least one anime character designer who does faces you like. Personall, I'm most fond of yoshitoshi ABe's art.

Eh, there's good and there's crud, just like with everything. I'm always willing to point out the good ones, if you want. It helps to know what kind of movies you do like, though.
From your brief description, I'd guess that something like Read or Die might be something you'd like.

At least you had a genetic reason. I got voted in as resident weird person in high school. I'd give anything to be normal, but the voices in my head won't let me.
