laurentius, hey that chair looks comfortable I have stupid chair I need to get a better one.

Why I'm here on friday? Friends aren't going out, well one of my buddies is dj.ing at this club but it's like one hour drive and I'm BROKE, and though I might get in for free, I don't want to go. I'm lazy. I've heard him play million times. How's that for good friends, aye?

What else.. I'm posting here, plus at the same time I'm studying algorithms and functions. Sounds like fun? Well at least I find this interesting so it's not bad at all for me.

What else.. so what if it's friday? I get drunk in monday if I feel like it.

Oh man I can tell you that chair IS one comfortable MF chair. Once you sit there you never want to leave it. Talking about tv-chair.
Anyway whos the DJ? Yeah My friends are out tonight, but i think I'll catch up with them tomorrow when theres Tulikansa performing at Makasiinit.

laurentius, I'm not getting drunk on monday . Tulikansa is pretty cool. My buddies dj.ing name, I'm not sure I think he has changed it but he used to go by the name of Kair.. but I'm sure you haven't heard of him, well you could have. He plays mostly house and different kinds of house..

I said I'd drink on monday is because I don't have the friday pressure.. you know like I NEED TO DO SOMETHING!.. I feel comfortable just being here, I don't have an itch to go out tonight. Plus I can't afford it. And even if I could, I'd prolly just save it for luxurious things like.. food.

I'm trying to avoid love at all costs. If you look up 'pathetic loser' in the dictionary, it probably lists 'dated st_swithin' as an alternate definition.

Whats the house scene like in Finland?

I can all too rarely find the trance music I crave. Hard house seems to be the way things are going in London, but maybe I need to look harder.

laurentius, I don't think I'm coming. It's no wonder you haven't heard, he hasn't played in bigger parties.. he's not a resident dj. But he gets gigs, and will get bigger soon. He's good and he has tons of wonderful records. Some rarely heard stuff too that people don't know about . BTW, I have a HUGE collection of house and other electronic music in my HD (closer to 30 gigs), so if you are interested, I could someday maybe hook you up with some. Mostly house though, official releases from mp3 groups, rarerities ripped from vinyls, most kinds of house (disco, chicago, deep etc), detroit (tons of good stuff if you like).

Snotty, I never liked hard house.. trance is maybe the biggest here in electronic music scene, or at least it used to be couple of years ago. Not huge in UK way, but huge in the way we have. House scene is ... hmm .. average. But people don't really know that much about really good house, classic house etc, except regular clubbers maybe and DJs. And me.

Snotty: We have very nice house scene here in Helsinki. Theres Deep house, Ibiza/Maistream, Hard House/NuNRG, jazz-house and my favourite progressive house which is growing really fast here. but I don't think he'll ever want to play in big parties.. we're kind the same I think.. YOu know, we treasure our collections, and we'd be the most happy if no one ever knew about them, so we could own it all . He likes to play though, and is good, and knows good music.. Myself.. I don't like to go clubbing these days.. I did that in 98-2000, then I kind of got bored to it... you know? I just like the music. I guess you could call me ******* purist of somekind, that comes in in crappy jeans and smells bad and doesn't give a crap about other people, only listens the music analyzing it and breaks out complaining if there's something even close 'wrong' with it . But I like to listen a lot, and collect the music.

Screen sometimes gets huge names... like for example Marshal Jefferson was there.. Uuh oooh.. yeah! One of the better Finn DJs in house is Jori Hulkkonen.. does stuff for F-Communication (laurent garniers label).

To put it in short, .. No I don't like clubs. I don't like crowded parties really, and I don't like most people I see at clubs. I'm not rude at them, but I just don't like most people I see there. Very few actually care about the music. Very few actually know something about the music that is been played. They just go there for their own hedonistic needs, to make a scene or what ever, to be seen, dressed to be screwed etc. I care 0% of that. I like the music, period. And most of the people in clubs etc are ruining my chance of really enjoying that music. That is, I'm so uptight that I can't stand other people doing anything extra . That includes dancing. I like to sit down, put on the headphones and analyze mixing, and everything there is to it, I love it. I like finding new killer baselines, beats, what ever. I care very little about parties in general. I like to party for sure, but I like to party with my friends. My friends only. Everything else is distraction and away from the whole experience. Best way is to just sit down, close your eyes and start listening, or perhaps do little programming aside .

So there you go.

I find that in the mainstream clubs (or the underground clubs that have become mainstream). Its still there in the others (and in London we have quite a choice) but its easy to feel you are surrounded by people who truly appreciate the music.
