Winamp 5.0 Beta. Lose 30 kilos (of popups)

the Winamp 5.0 Beta is around. Just installed it, and it doesn't seem to be as heavy on the CPU, and no bugs seen, so far.

Come and check it out.

I think drake got it. it is 2 in 1. And it seems that there are some bugs. For example, it crashed, and now it won't allow me to reload it.

I heard it from Asher on the other thread. I didn't copy and paste it though; not really that hard to remember.

No, Asher already made an iTunes bashing thread that also mentioned Winamp 5 along the way. Don't worry.

Btw, what's new in WinAmp 5? I haven't downloaded it, and doubt I will, unless I hear some interesting news about it

From what I heard, it won't have the killer WinAmp3 feature of multiple playlists until 5.1, so I am going to pass.

It supports the freeform skins of 3.0 as well as classic 2.0 skins, and plugins for both.

WMP9? You're not talking about Windows Media Player 9, are you?

How can anyone use such a thing to play music?

What exactly is these freeform skins? I don't have Winamp 3, since I found it good for nothing... I still prefer Winamp 2...

Skins? WTH are those, how it looks? Why does it matter how it looks? Oh wait, you people don't have unlimited desktop space, nevermind.

(For Asher: Can Windows handle 3x10x10 and bind keys to change between them?)

With great ease. What does WinAmp have over WMP9? If it is has some kind of superiority over WMP9 in audio playback, let me know so I can switch over.

Besides, WMP9 has far superior skins. Just compare the two.

Wow, somebody else on 'poly knows who Blue October is?

Secondly, I like 5.0, but with the default skin that it loads (not the classic Winamp skin), I can't see any of the files on the playlist, but they are there when I switch to the classic skin.

Help yourself to an AD-FREE life

Well... Winamp is slim and georgeus (When using the right skin that is), while WMP is just big and clumsy

Btw, of course you shouldn't compare it to WinAmp3, because it sucks... WinAmp 2 is far the best music player I've tried...

Avatar Enlargement: We've got the solution

The WinAmp pictured was the 5.0 beta.

I don't see how you call Windows Media Player big and clumsy, while at the same time calling WinAmp slim and gorgeous w/ the right skin. WMP9 has several great skins that can make it just as sleek.

Ok, I haven't used WMP9 much, but I've searched around for skins for WMP8, but didn't find any good ones... only a few where the size of the window was changeable, but they all had one thing in common: They where uglier than the WinAmp skin I once created (Which was extremely ugly)

As far as audio playback Winamp has been by far and away better than WMP. At least on my computer. That's why I use Winamp.

Btw Verto, could you post a screenshot of how WMP9 would look with the playlist?
